Electrical Insight

Some of you may know what some of the materials, products, or tools we are posting are, and others of you may have never seen or used something like this before. We're going to post some behind the scene pictures of material, products, or tools which we use on your projects, both residential and commercial, so you have a little inside scoop and can impress our Spectrum Electrical Services, Inc. electrician next time they stop by!

Today we're going to take a look at this tool known as the Hammer Drill. Here at Spectrum Electrical Services, Inc. we use hammer drills equipped with masonry bits for drilling into stone, brick, mortar, or cement for a variety of reasons including attaching EMT straps as the picture below shows. A hammer drill operates similar to a regular drill in that it rotates the same, but while its rotating it also has a forward hammering action which exerts greater force directly into the bit.
